The Auburn University Physics Department has a strong tradition of research into basic and applied physics. The research is performed by faculty, post-doctoral researchers and graduate and undergraduate students. This research is supported by both private industry and the federal and state government. There are four main areas in which the research is performed with a great diversity of projects within each area. These four areas are listed below with the faculty members who are active in each area.
